Haydneum Fortepiano Series
2024/2025

Once again, the fortepiano will take center stage in the five concerts of the subscription series at the Solti Hall of the Liszt Academy, where internationally celebrated specialists of this historically significant, deservedly rediscovered, and still thrilling instrument will perform—coming from the Netherlands, Romania, and even Japan. Yet, throughout the concerts spanning different periods and styles, the fortepiano’s triumphant descendant, the piano, as well as Barnabás Kelemen’s violin, will also have their moments in the spotlight.

We reserve the right to make changes to the program and performers.

Haydneum Fortepiano Series
2023/2024

Through the five concerts of the subscription series at the beautifully renovated Solti Hall of the Liszt Academy, the audience will have the opportunity to explore a variety of historical keyboard instruments. Since the end of last year, the Haydneum collection has expanded with several fortepianos, which will also be showcased during this series.

Distinguished pianists will guide us through these instruments, including the Dutch Bart van Oort, and acclaimed Hungarian artists Somlai Petra, Berecz Mihály, Balázs János, and Balog József. Balog József will be joined on stage by soprano Emőke Baráth, while Berecz Mihály’s vocal partner in next year’s series will be Katalin Szutrély. Bart van Oort, Somlai Petra, and Balázs János will also perform alongside exceptional guest artists, whose names will be announced later together with the detailed programs.

The concerts will feature remarkable instruments, including a 1825 Conrad Graf copy, an 1835 original Maximilian Schott fortepiano from Vienna, a 1811 Johann Fritz copy, an 1840 original Erard from Paris, and an 1872 original Johann Baptiste Streicher fortepiano.
