Haydneum Eszterháza Festival

28 August – 5 September 2026

At the historic venue of Eszterháza, the Haydneum Eszterháza Festival will take place for the fourth time at the end of the summer. It has become a tradition that the opening evening features a concert performance of one of Haydn’s operas—this year, Orlando paladino, first performed in 1782, with Cyrille Dubois in the title role. Chamber music is represented by Petra Somlai’s Schubert recital and the Gringolts Quartet’s Haydn programme, and there will once again be a themed walk with Ádám Bősze. Music by Haydn and his contemporaries will be performed in the closing concert, conducted by the Swiss bass singer Stephan MacLeod, who is also renowned worldwide as a vocalist.
