Petra Somlai, a professor at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague and winner of the Junior Prima Award, is a regular performer at Haydneum concerts. She often performs with Ensemble Variabile, a baroque ensemble with a changing lineup and sound, and one of the leading representatives of historical chamber music performance. Their performance will feature Schubert’s five-movement Trout Quintet, written in 1819, and several chamber works by the long-lived Dutch composer Carel Anton Fodor, who composed in the style of Haydn. In the first part of the program, Petra Somlai will perform Schubert’s peaceful, intimate Sonata in G major.
