Yury Martynov’s unparalleled technical skill, knowledge of instruments, and stylistic expertise have made him one of the most sought-after performers. He plays piano, harpsichord, clavichord, organ, and fortepiano with equal brilliance and teaches modern piano and historical keyboard instruments at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow. In his solo recital, he will perform two Beethoven sonatas from the middle period – the popular Appassionata and the two-movement E minor – as well as Schumann’s Symphonic Etudes, in a longer version supplemented with posthumous etudes.
