Missa con Trombe
Over the past decade, György Vashegyi and his ensembles have performed numerous works by Francesco Bartolomeo Conti. Handel even borrowed motifs from his operas, and Bach held his sacred compositions in high regard, making an autograph copy of Conti’s Missa brevis. Conti’s oratorio David was first performed on March 30, 1724, in Vienna. The contemporary world premiere of his Missa con trombe took place in 2024, also performed by Vashegyi and his ensembles. The highlight of the evening is Conti’s only cantata for soprano and trumpet, featuring Robin Johannsen.
