Ronald Brautigam, the 70-year-old Dutch master of the fortepiano, recorded all solo keyboard works by Joseph Haydn at the turn of the millennium, thus it is no exaggeration to state that he has the composer’s oeuvre ‘at his fingertips’. The rich selection of the chamber recital programme is representative of the keyboard range of Haydn’s oeuvre and well as Brautigam’s artistic mission in life, to return the fortepiano, the original instrument used to perform the sonatas, to its rightful place.
