Just how magnificent was life for musicians in the court of Nikolaus ‘The Magnificent’? Were they looked after or was it the fate of a lowly servant for them? What did they think about the visit of Maria Theresa? Did they get to sample the grand banqueting fare? What did they eat, where did they sleep, where did they pray or entertain themselves? How exactly did they live their everyday lives and how did they celebrate? These are some of the questions Ádám Bősze seeks to answer on the Eszterháza music history stroll, each stop of which has a story about all the key figures, from Nikolaus ‘The Magnificent’ to Joseph Haydn.
