György Vashegyi and his ensembles have performed numerous works by Francesco Bartolomeo Conti over the past decade. Handel also used motifs from his operas, while Bach held his sacred compositions in high regard, making a copy of the Missa brevis in his own hand. His oratorio David was first performed in Vienna on March 30, 1724. The contemporary world premiere of the Missa con trombe took place in 2024, also performed by György Vashegyi and his ensembles. The highlight of the evening was Bach’s cantata for solo soprano and trumpet, performed by Robin Johannsen.
