József Balog, winner of the Liszt and Artisjus awards, is one of the most versatile members of his generation. His repertoire ranges from Rameau to contemporary composers, and he has a penchant for rarities and delicacies. His chamber music partners this time are Zsolt Kalló, also a Liszt Prize winner, and Artist of Merit of Hungary, a pioneer of period violin playing in Hungary and artistic director of Capella Savaria, and Máté Börzsönyi, horn player with the Budafok Dohnányi Orchestra. Their program reveals lesser-known layers of Beethoven and Brahms’ chamber music.
